How to Show your Dentist Some Love for National Dentist’s Day

February 16, 2023 By Wyatt Dilling

A woman in a red sweater embraces the face of her dentist.

Each year on March 6, we have the opportunity to celebrate dentists for National Dentist’s Day! Why celebrate dentists? They work hard to keep your teeth shining, your mouth healthy, and your overall well-being a top priority.

Even if you don’t have an appointment with your dentist on National Dentist’s Day, there are plenty of ways to show them some love during your next visit.

Simple ways to recognize your dentist on National Dentist’s Day

Recognizing your dentist on National Dentist’s Day doesn’t have to be hard! There are plenty of simple and affordable (or free) tokens of gratitude that any dentist will appreciate!

Patient demeanor means a lot

Dentists love a clean mouth, but they really appreciate kind and respectful patients! The next time you’re at the dentist’s office, be sure to be extra gracious toward the entire staff. Be patient if they are running slightly behind schedule, catch up with the receptionist, and be sure to thank your dentist after your check-up.

Good oral health habits at home keep dentists happy

One of the easiest ways to show your dentist some love is to practice good oral health habits at home. Brushing twice daily and flossing once daily will keep your dental team happy. Don’t let the morning of your appointment be the first time you’ve flossed in months – your dentist will know!

Gift ideas for dentists

If you would like to give your dentist a gift for National Dentist’s Day, there are many practical and fun ideas! Here are some of our favorites:

  • Personalized minimalist sculpture with their name
  • Custom tumblers
  • Tooth-themed accessories
  • Tooth-shaped plant holder, pencil holder, toothbrush holder
  • Fun coffee mugs

Write a thank you card for National Dentist’s Day

A hand-written thank you card is a simple yet meaningful gesture that’s sure to make your dentist smile. Being a dentist is often a thankless job. However, a letter expressing appreciation for their hard work can make their day.

Encourage a night out

Dentists tend to work long hours. Celebrate National Dentist’s Day by giving them a gift card to a local restaurant, art center, or movie theater.

Why we celebrate National Dentist’s Day

At Delta Dental of Wyoming, we celebrate dentists. We recognize the important work they do in maintaining the oral and overall health of individuals, families, and communities.

Dentists perform a wide range of tasks. They perform examinations, clean and polish teeth, treat cavities, and provide advice on proper oral hygiene. Celebrating dentists allows us to acknowledge their dedication and hard work in the field.

Thank you, dentists!
